This web site and our haunt is dedicated to the great Bob Burns. Hilber has known Bob for many years and has been inspired by his wit and good natured desire to scare for fun. Film historian and collector of sci-fi & horror movie memorabilia, Bob is also known as the "Godfather of Halloween." For almost two decades he transformed his Burbank, California home into a fantastic haunted house (with the help of his movie effects friends). Featured in magazines, newspapers and TV, Bob's efforts gave joy and the Halloween spirit to thousands of children and adults. God Bless you, Bob!

Who is "Renegade Author?"

Hilber Graf (he's the grinning idiot on the left) is an actor, artist, author and activist. In the early 1970s Hilber was acting on the theatrical stage and also seen in the media burning his draft card as protest to the Vietnam War. He spent time as a radio announcer in 1974 and  later in 1979 as a cartoon animator on the Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids TV show (among others at Filmation Associates). Hilber then moved on to special effects for video and film throughout the 1980s, sharing an Oscar for Best Special Effects (THE ABYSS) in 1989. Continuing to create props for independent film and stage, Graf immersed himself in the growing Halloween haunted house industry. All this while devoting 30 years to professional paranormal investigations - ghost hunting! Hilber has published several books on this creepy subject, including a guidebook series on hauntings in the American Southwest.

His activism today has taken the shape of charity fund raising projects - THE FORBIDDEN JUNGLE haunted house being just one of his ongoing passions.
